TCI: Absolution (Book 2)

NOW AVAILABLE

TCI (Treaty of Cosmic Infidels) is an epic, character-driven, Science Fiction & Fantasy saga that is divided into five parts.

Though often grim and gristly, the TCI universe nonetheless manages to preserve its sense of wonder and mystique. The series can best be described as a cross between ‘A Song of Ice and Fire' (Game of Thrones) and ‘Star Wars’.

The TCI series follows a colorful and diverse cast of characters as they navigate one of the most trying and unstable eras in their history.

Decades of war and violent territorial expansion by the theocratic Alavite regime finds the remaining free planets of the galaxy on the defensive, living in perpetual fear of what most assume is an inevitable, unstoppable invasion. Their newest and most promising beacon of hope comes in the form of Jakob Koss, one of the few Draekons to survive the Alavites’ attempted extermination of his people.

While his inspiring leadership and unwavering resilience command the respect of those around him, it is Jakob’s unprecedented mastery of his peoples’ mysterious and supernatural ‘shaz’ energy that quickly captures both the hearts and minds of the galaxy at large, including the Alavite leader himself, Olivio X.

Driven primarily by his unbridled hatred for his captors, Jakob sets out on what appears to be an impossible, perhaps even suicidal, mission: to convince the leaders of the remaining free planets to put aside their historic differences and unite their armies under a single banner in a new and unprecedented alliance which he dubs TCI, or The Treaty of Cosmic Infidels.

Why TCI?

A few key aspects separate TCI from most works in both the Science Fiction and Fantasy genres. Among these are the following:

  • Unique races , each with its own distinct culture, planet, history, and language.

    • No humans (strictly speaking), elves, dwarves, gnomes, Cthulhu-squid people, or ‘forerunners’.

  • A ‘magic’ system built from scratch to break many typical molds/conventions that have long since been run into the ground.

  • A cast of distinct, three-dimensional characters, each with their own struggles, flaws, and strengths.

  • An epic, compelling story heavily inspired by various historical figures and events that is unafraid to directly address difficult, real issues such as religious fanaticism, genocide, addiction, and sexual assault.

  • A hybrid combat system which employs the use of futuristic technology (spacecraft, robotics, etc.) combined with medieval-style weapons (swords, axes , knives, hammers).

    • Guns and other ballistic weaponry do not exist in the TCI universe.

    • A special type of enhanced bow known as a powerbow is paired with glowing, concussive arrows for ranged combat.

  • An average score ranging from 4.6 to 4.8 stars out of 5 across Amazon and Goodreads.
